Krissy Harris
Krissy has been riding for 38 years, and professionally training horses for film, television and the sport of showjumping for the last 30 years.
She has represented Australia as a showjumping rider at the World Cup Final in 1997, and again at the World Championships in 1998 on the thoroughbred Mr Popeye. Krissy is just at home promoting and producing the shows as she is riding in them.
As President of Central Coast Showjumping Club for 5 years and now part of the committee, Krissy assists the CCSJC in running their annual show. The Ashbrookes Farm Showjumping weekend is held annually on the last weekend in November. It has been running for 10 years – and has now moved venue to Heath & Krissy Harris’s new property – Stonewall Farm at Mangrove Mountain.
After travelling extensively with horses overseas, both for film work, live show and showjumping, Krissy is very experienced in the logistics and coordination of the movement and care of large amounts of horses. In 2004 after returning from the last major film job “Legend of Zorro” in Mexico – Krissy & husband Heath started Hawkesbury River Saddle Company – which they still run today – along with their new property Stonewall Equestrian and a team of young competitive showjumpers including 2 thoroughbreds and 2 warmbloods.
Heath Harris
HEATH HARRIS 22/9/1946 – 2/4/2022
Heath horse-mastered, trained, stunt co-ordinated and second unit directed over 40 feature films and approx 120 commercials and television series, including icons “The Man From Snowy River”, “Phar Lap” and “Racing Stripes”. In all his movie and live show work – his favourite horse was the thoroughbred – and he used them extensively in his work.
Heath also an accomplished saddler & harness maker – making western saddles, fender stock saddles and all strapping work. Heath designed and was head saddler for Hawkesbury River Saddle Company.
Dr. Karin Attebo
Eye Surgeon Dr Karin Attebo and her husband, Spine Surgeon Dr Andrew Cree are very involved with the welfare of thoroughbreds. They are members of the ATC and current part owners of 23 pampered thoroughbreds. They want to assure a better future for all retired racehorses, by providing them with a new career and purpose beyond racing.
Katelyn Mallyon
Katelyn is a 4th generation jockey whose career started with the 2011/12 apprentice’s Premiership and after time off with injury – backed up again to win the 2013/14 Premiership.
Katelyn has ridden many winners since, including her Group 1 win aboard Silent Sedition in the 2017 William Reid Stakes, as well as going back-to-back in the 2017 Group 2 Rubiton Stakes aboard Super Cash. While her race riding days were cut short by injury, Kate’s love of thoroughbreds did not end at the winning post. She is actively involved with the industry via the media, Channel 7 and BetEasy.
Katelyn is just as passionate about thoroughbreds after their race career has ended and is helping them find a second career by being part of the team behind the Thoroughbred Sport Horse Association.
Katelyn is currently retraining Little White Cloud to compete in the TSHA Showjumping Series. Little White Cloud won the BM90 Handicap at Flemington in November 2016 – and she hopes he can win again as a show jumper.
Nicole Poetsch
Nicole has been involved with horses since childhood. Her family’s involvement with breeding and racehorse ownership has been long and varied. Ranging from her Grandfather’s champion outback jockey status to her uncle training horses for bush races in NWQ – Nicole’s family has also bred NSW country winners and enjoyed syndicate ownership. Nicole has extensive customer service, administration and events management skills.
